Two antique decanters were stained over the course of years with the residue of red wine. Two scoops of vanish dissolved in warm water, swilled round and left for half an hour. Result - shining glass inside and out ! Brilliant.

Not sure if anyone tried this but, the bottom of the toilet bowl was darkened due to limescale etc and nothing removed it, including bleach. I emptied 2 scoops of vanish powder and poured kettle boiled water slowly and left it for about half an hour. Gave it a gentle rub with toilet brush and it was gone! Couldn't believe the simple solution to that embarrassing matter was sitting in the cupboard ...

Take a nice big deep tray, add a scoop of vanish, dissove. Add your wire oven shelves. Wait two hours and the grease will come off easily with a rough cloth. No more scrubbing and chipping away, no matter how bad they are!

Hello Does anyone have any tips on getting red poster paint out of a school shirt? So far I've tried soaking it in Vanish, rubbing Vanish on & using it as a pre wash as well as soaking it in bleach & while it's faded a little, it's still too noticeable to wear? Thank you

'Salts of lemon' I think is the name of a chemical that I used to get from the chemist works for rust stains, stains from sun-creams and also, I think it works on banana stains. It's a long time since I had baby-clothes to wash!
